Who We Are
STREAM (Stronger Together Reaching Equality Across Manatee) is a grassroots, nonpartisan coalition of 12 multicultural and interfaith congregations across Manatee County.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization rooted in faith and united by a shared commitment to fairness, dignity, and justice for every family in our community.
STREAM is not a direct service or charity organization. While many of our member congregations provide food, clothing, and other forms of care, STREAM focuses on something different: addressing the root causes that make charity necessary in the first place.
We work to create long-term change by improving the policies, practices, and systems that shape daily life in Manatee County.
Our faith traditions inspire our work, but we do not promote religious doctrine. Instead, we bring people together around shared values, fairness, accountability, compassion, and the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to thrive.
Through listening sessions, research, and collective action, STREAM identifies community-wide problems that affect large numbers of people. We develop practical solutions, engage directly with public officials, and follow through to ensure commitments lead to real, measurable change.
We organize people not around politics, but around values, building the relationships and civic capacity needed to strengthen our community for the long term.
